Hello and welcome to Resonation, the approved fanlisting for the movie Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaea. Released originally in 2000, the movie was a re-telling of the 26 episode anime series Tenkuu no Escaflowne. While bearing the same name, basic plot and characters, the movie rendition is drastically different from the series. The movie was created to be more appealing to a male audience (as the originally series was targeted towards girls) and featured sharper animation, new character designs and a new musical score. I still remember the first time I saw the trailer for the movie on tv, and how elated I was to see a new production for my all-time favorite series. Although it differs from the series, I feel like the movie has it's own charms, and it's a story I'll never forget.
